Starting a beard-growing journey is a big commitment. Knowing how long it takes to grow a beard is very important for getting the results you want. The time needed to grow a beard is different for everyone, but having a general timeline helps you understand when to start and what to expect. Understanding the process and being patient can help you avoid quitting too soon and lead to better results.

Growing a beard happens in stages, and each stage needs regular care and specific products. Quitting too early often means you won’t get the results you want. Staying committed for the whole journey is key. By having realistic expectations and sticking to a routine, you can greatly increase your chances of growing a thick and healthy beard.

Products You Need

To start your beard journey from almost no beard on your face, you need a few beard products. You need to use or apply those as per routine or rules. If you are careless or do not use them carefully, you may not get your expected result.

For growing a beard, you need to use beard oil. With Minoxidil (Kirkland), I gained a beard practically instantly. Also, you need a derma roller to make new hair grow and make your beard growth faster. These two I recommend as must-have products for growing a beard almost from nothing. You may also use supplements, beard balm, beard butter, or others for extra growth and grooming.

First Two to Three Months

Growing a beard from almost nothing is a long process for most people. It takes, on average, one year. After starting to use beard oil, some beard hair can be seen on your face. Some people stop using beard oil after getting that result, but that’s only the beginning. If your goal is to have a beard for life, the journey should not end there. Those few beard hairs may not be permanent for most men. However, they should not be shaved cleanly because shaving them cleanly will be like shaving or cutting them from the root. Also, those beards are generally thin, so they should never be cut. You have to use beard oil above them. You can trim them from the top, but not cleanly or never put zero on the machine. That will be how the first two to three months of your beard oil journey go.

After Six to Eight Months

If you maintain your beard journey consistently with the rules and regulations, then after six to eight months, you may notice a good result of a beard on your face. But you will notice it only if you maintain your journey consistently.

Some people get a thick beard after six to eight months and stop their beard journey. Well, that’s not a big problem for them because it can be said that their beard is permanent whenever the beard is thick. But experts suggest continuing to use beard oil for a few more months, around three or four more months, which will be good for making their beard better. On the other hand, some people don’t get a thick beard after that period, which is not abnormal. In that case, they should not lose hope and there is nothing to worry about. They just need to continue their beard journey for a few more months consistently and sincerely. After that, it is expected that they will get a thick beard.

Within One Year

By completing a year with your beard journey, most people get their expected result, which is getting a thick beard and a good amount of beard on their face. Completing one year is the ideal time frame for the beard journey, whether you get your result before that or not. If you don’t get the result in that time frame, though you used it consistently, then that’s a matter of concern. Though I never heard that it didn’t work after using it consistently, the thickness of your beard can vary, but at least you will get a thicker beard if you use it consistently.

What if You Don’t Get Your Expected Result in One Year?

If you apply consistently and follow the rules and procedures, then you should get a standard beard on your face within one year. But some factors, like applying beard oil one time a day instead of two times, may impact your result. On the other hand, your hormones, such as testosterone, may also play a role in not getting your beard within that time frame. In that case, it may take a few more months to get your expected beard. You should continue applying the beard products for a few more months on a routine basis. It is better if you can set a target of using those products continuously (especially beard oil) for at least two years. And also remember that you should never stop maintaining the basics for your beard.

So that’s all about the time frame and the consequences of the beard journey process. Keeping all the above in mind, you should decide when to start, and whenever you start, you should not stop in the middle until you get the result.
